Hambro Concrete Floor System on Concrete Walls
When you see footage of Caribbean island ravaged by hurricanes you repeatedly see concrete wall homes with the roofs blown off. This likely happens from a combination of substandard tin panel roofs and a lack of hurricane rated shutters. Hambro makes a unique concrete floor and roof system that would enable these structures to be retrofitted and put back into service. The system in the video is also an excellent choice for the first floor on raised structures built on concrete walls or sono tube pilings in flood plain areas. The key feature is the ability to remove the wood material used to form the concrete pour. On a raised structure this material could be damages by sea water and humidity resulting in mold and deterioration. This allows the plywood to be used on multiple projects and eliminates the cost of more expensive non-removable floor forming material like steel.
